Being Politically Involved

In my attempts to be more knowledgeable and more involved politically, below are links for you to check out the candidates profiles and issues.

I must admit, I abhor politics and the garbage that comes with it. The mudslinging and chaotic ramblings often get in the way of the message and frankly it turns me off. But I believe voting to be a privilege in a country where voters do not face fear, death or intimidation going to the polling booth. Democracy is at its best when the individual citizens of the nation are able to make educated choices and see them to fruitition.

May we make the time to educate ourselves on where the candidates stand and choose the best candidate that represent you, your beliefs, values and vision for this country.

Goodluck!

Article from the Christian Science Monitor regarding the candidates diversity http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0122/p08s01-comv.html

Excerpt:
At first, it sounds like a bad joke: What if a woman, a black, and a Mormon ran for president? Yet with Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Mitt Romney running for the White House, this welcome burst of diversity in US presidential candidates is no joke.

Each of these politicians comes with enough experience, patriotism, and popular support to be taken seriously for the 2008 contest. Yet polls show a number of Americans still hold some prejudice against them simply for their sex, race, or religion
